Our Learning
Each class from R-6 at Largs Bay School has participates in a 50-minute writing lesson as a specialist lesson.
These writing lessons are not about fine-tuning handwriting skills but an explicit focus on functional grammar and the role of punctuation in our daily writing. This weekly time allocation is designed to support the learning programmes within the classroom, planned by your child’s teacher. The structure of each lesson is purpose driven and allows for explicit direct instruction, modelled examples and gradual release towards working independently – ‘I do, We do, You do’.
