Music
Our Learning
Music is a very important part of the Curriculum. All primary classes from R-6 participate in a 50 minute music lesson, further to this our Early Years Teachers also incorporate music into their daily program with songs, dance and nursery rhymes.
In Music, students listen to, compose and perform music from a diverse range of styles, cultures, traditions and contexts. They create, organise, manipulate and share sounds in time and space, and critically analyse music. Music practices are aurally based and focus on developing and applying knowledge and skills through sustained musical engagement and experiences.
During music lessons in the Primary Years the students sing, danced and play instruments. Dances that are taught are included in our assemblies and our ‘End of Year Event’ so that all students can participate fully during these occasions.
The program at Largs Bay School is aimed at making music enjoyable, engaging and attractive.
