House Captaincy is another wonderful opportunity for our senior students to explore and unlock their leadership potential, whilst involving themselves in the wider school community
House Captaincy is another wonderful opportunity for our senior students to explore and unlock their leadership potential, whilst involving themselves in the wider school community.
At the end of Term 1, Year 6 students interested in applying for a house leader position are asked to present themselves as prospective house leaders in a speech to their peers, with successful applicants being elected on merit via secret ballot.
House leader roles and responsibilities
- Assume a leadership role for your house
- Be proactive and assist staff with the organisation of all house activities
- Be a positive role model for other students in all areas of school life
- Assist with the planning and running of school events and activities
- Attend meetings in your own time (before school, recess, lunch, after school)
- Collaborate with staff and the Sports Day Committee to help organise Sports Day
- Lead your house in the practice and delivery of your House Chant for Sports Day
- Lead your house in the practice and delivery of your House March for Sports Day
- Collaborate with the other house leaders to plan and lead a health hustle for the whole school
